The agreement between you and blamepost.
Last updated 2026-05-17
1. The service
blamepost is a hosted email service operated by blamepost. The service includes inbound mail reception, outbound mail sending, mailbox storage, and the surfaces that let you read, compose, and administer your account. The technical architecture is documented on the security page.
2. Your account
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We support per-device application passwords and passkey-based sign-in so a single device compromise doesn't forfeit the whole account; use them. If you lose access to your account, we'll work with you to recover it through the email address on file.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use blamepost to send unsolicited bulk email, phishing, malware, content that infringes intellectual-property rights, or content prohibited by the laws of the jurisdiction your account is registered in. We may suspend accounts that violate this rule without prior notice when there's an active deliverability or safety incident; otherwise we'll contact you first.
4. Payment
Paid plans renew monthly or annually depending on the billing cycle you pick. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't store card data. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
5. Data and exports
Your mailbox is yours. We provide standards-based exports (IMAP4rev2 and JMAP) so you can move to another provider without a proprietary migration tool. After cancellation we keep your sealed mailbox for 30 days so you can recover it; after that the ciphertext is destroyed and the seal key is rotated out so no future operator can recover it.
6. Service availability
We target high availability across the regional MX clusters but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced on the status surface. We don't offer a financial-credit SLA on the consumer plans; Scale customers can request one in their contract.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, blamepost's aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. blamepost is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to your account email at least 30 days before they take effect, and you can cancel in that window without penalty if you disagree.
